On the 9th of April 2005 Kariong attended " Exercise Fourfoot".A training exercise conducted in Woy Woy tunnel simulating a train derailment.

Emergency services involved in the day

NSWRFS, NSWFB, Ambulance, Police, SES, State Rail, & Gosford Hospital-(Doctor & Nurse Team)

Some of the activities conducted were

Fire protection, Rescue, Hazmat, First Aid, & Victim identification.

Gosford RFS units involved were

Kariong Pumper, Kariong 12, Bays 1, Empire Bay 1, Group Officer 1, Group Officer 7, Area Training Officer, & Catering which supplied lunch for all services.

The exercise went for approx. 2 1/2 hours.

Three members from Kariong recently participated in a B.A. training coarse held at Wyong with other Gosford & Wyong brigades.
The coarse was conducted over several Nights & a Saturday practical exercise.
