G’day folks, back with some more goss from Kariong Rural Fire Brigade for this month. With another month of low fire activity, the brigade has been concentrating on training and recruiting. Since last issue, a couple of locals have come up to see us and put their names down to join. A father and son came up and it was great to see especially these days with kids into other activities. Dad was a one time fiery who wanted to get back into it and the son who also took an interest came up to see what its all about. And that’s the word going out folks, we need you! If it were a positions vacant ad it would read..... Wanted Local Kariong residents for Rural Fire Brigade. Job Description Hot, dirty and sometimes exhausting work. Odd hours. Could be away from family for extended periods of time. Sometimes boring. Often exciting. No pay No experience required. Must be over sixteen years of age. Benefits Free training. Uniform supplied.
