G'day folks, back with some more news from Kariong Rural Fire Brigade
for
this month. Well, again another quiet month on the fire front has passed
mainly due to the cooler wet weather. Things as you may have noticed
have
been a little damp lately and that's great but it does make other things
happen however and that's motor vehicle accidents. Please folks, I've
been
over this heaps in the past but, drive to the conditions. If its raining
and
you are on the road, take a few "K's" of the speedo and take care. I
don't
exactly know what it is with rain but when it falls, it brings the
"idiot" out in some drivers and accidents start happening so be careful
out
there.
As mentioned last issue, Kariong assisted in the "Grand Opening" of The
Warehouse in Gosfords Town Centre formerly known as Market town.
Although
the weather was a little overcast, things went well with the crew
getting
stuck straight into the job. Our own resident sausage sizzle king Mr.
Aaron
"Tex" Medina presided over the BBQ and caressed those sizzling little
morsels like a conductor would over a symphony orchestra, with a quick
hand
and astute finesse. He was ably assisted by his"wing-man" Mark "butter
more
bread" Porter who had the rest of the crew working like a Swiss clock.
In
the space of three hours we managed to sizzle-up twenty-five kilos of
snags,
ten kilos of onions and twenty-seven loaves of bread to a lot of
grateful
albeit hungry punters. My thanks go the people that gave a donation and
to
the business that supported us on the day and they were: Kariong Kakes,
Singletons Butchery and A&B Providors.
Other news to hand is that our AGM is set for Wednesday 8th of June,
7.30pm
at the Dandaloo st. fire station. I'll keep you posted on that one.
That's it for now fellow Kariongites. Stay safe and I'll seeya next
issue.
