On the 23rd of June at 20:25 hours Kariong responded to a house alight at Lavender Cr Spencer. Upon arrival the house was well alight. Spencer & Mangrove Brigades were already in attendance but live electrical cables hampered fire fighting operations. After power to the house was disconnected the fire could be fully extinguished.

At 14:36 hours on the 21/01/07 Kariong responded to bush alight on Wisemans Ferry Rd Lower Mangrove. The temp. was about 40 degrees. Kariong & other Gosford crews worked in extreme conditions to contain spot fires to no avail. The quick actions of the Kariong crew prevented any loss to property as a spot fire impacted on a caravan & shed on the eastern side of the road. The crew returned home approx 01:00 hours The following morning
